Romeo Saganash set for 2014 Northern Tour

August 20, 2014

VAL-D’OR – Abitibi-Baie-James-Nunavik-Eeyou MP, Romeo Saganash, is set to visit the northern villages of Inukjuak, Ivujivik, Salluit and Umiujaq as part of a tour that will run from August 27 to 29. He will also visit the twin communities of Kuujjuarapik and Whapmagoostui, where Inuits and Crees live side by side.

Saganash plans to use the tour to meet with local leaders, as well as representatives from several organizations.

“I am the MP for a very large constituency – the second largest in Canada – and I believe the summer months are a wonderful opportunity to visit all its regions and absorb as much information as possible to take back to Parliament in September. Remote areas have the right to be heard in Ottawa, and it is my duty to be their voice in the capital. All too often, the Conservatives neglect to hear the voices of citizens living in tough conditions outside of our country’s major centres. It is my duty to remind the government of this, and I will continue to do so,” said Saganash.
