ROMEO SAGANASH ADDS HIS VOICE TO THE NATIONAL DAY TO END BULLYING
Val-d’Or, May 7, 2014 – The Member for Abitibi-Baie-James-Nunavik-Eeyou, Romeo Saganash, is happy to lend his support to BELONGING: National Day to End Bullying, taking place today across Canada.
In doing so he is responding to the call of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, which launched this day of action to open the dialogue about this serious issue affecting the lives of many young people in Abitibi-Baie-James-Nunavik-Eeyou and elsewhere in Quebec and Canada.
“For too long as a society we have stayed silent on acts of bullying around us. Let’s act now to put an end to this violence. Today let’s unite against bullying, our common enemy. But above all let’s show boys and girls, men and women, that we care about them and that they can hold their head high,” said MP Saganash.
Bullying can do great damage and happens in all areas of society. In recent years this serious concern has been discussed in all forums and we cannot let it out of the spotlight. More and more we understand the harmful impacts in the short-, medium- and long-term of bullying on a person’s development.
MP Saganash recognizes the importance of this day and supports this movement in hope of helping end the exclusion too many of our young people face.
