CANADA SUMMER JOBS 2012 - $432,859 FOR ABITIBI BAIE-JAMES NUNAVIK EEYOU

Val-d’Or – MP Romeo Saganash is happy to announce that an amount of $432,859 has been approved for the riding of Abitibi Baie-James Nunavik Eeyou for 2012-2013 from the Canada Summer Jobs program.
In all, 70 groups or organizations will benefit from this funding which allows non-profit organizations, public sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create summer job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 30 years who are full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year.
Local priorities were determined to be non-profit organization related to itinerancy issues or related to public health and safety, tourism, projects which favor intergenerational relations, forestry and food-processing industry.
“I am pleased to see that many organizations of all parts of the riding applied for this program, which is essential to the hiring of young students pour the summer period” stated Mr. Saganash. “These jobs will allow students to acquire career-related experience or early work experience that will help to enhance their future career prospects”.
