354 DRAWINGS BY ELEMENTARY STUDENTS FOR ROMEO SAGANASH’S CHRISTMAS CARD CONTEST
VAL-D’OR – Just as school resumed at the end of August, Member of Parliament Romeo Saganash launched a drawing contest for elementary school students within the Abitibi-Baie-James-Nunavik-Eeyou riding. Mr. Saganash would select one of these drawings to adorn the Christmas Cards he sends out each year for the holidays.
Romeo Saganash sent invitations to elementary school principals throughout the riding, and ended up receiving 354 drawings in total. Students had to submit their drawings by October 8th.
“It was a tough choice, and it really was not easy to pick out one winner among all these drawings. In the end, I could not pass up the work of Caleb Esquivel-Fortin, from Jacques-Rousseau School in Radisson,” said Saganash.
The winner will receive books from the Fafounet collection, as well as two titles from the Les Papinachois collection. Next week, Romeo Saganash will head to Radisson to present Caleb with his prize. During the same trip, he will also go to Kuujjuaq.
“I am really looking forward to meeting Caleb and his classmates and his parents at the Jacques-Rousseau School. I am really pleased that his drawing was chosen for my Christmas cards this year,” added Saganash.
